Owens Realty Services: Gaining Efficiency & Cost Savings with WinTeam

So when I started with Owens, Realty Services in 2021 they were a partial team customer. They were using pieces of Team software. They were using ADP. They were using various softwares. So we did an evaluation of systems and said, you know, what should we use for the future, instead of using all the different softwares that we’re using today? And we decided to go with teams.

The biggest advantage for using team is we have everything in one place where before, when we had ADP and we used team for our general ledger and AP, we were not able to see the payroll detail in other systems, so we were able to bridge that gap by converting to the full platform.

 

What value have you seen by moving your payroll to TEAM?

One of the advantages to when we switch to Team payroll versus ADP is we actually gained an extra day of processing. So when COVID hit and I was trying to retain employees, we decided to go to weekly payroll, and weekly payroll on Thursdays. So we should hit more than a week off ADP in order to hit that Thursday deadline. And our managers had to review payroll over the weekend because we had to submit the payroll file on Monday. But when we switch the team, we can actually have till Tuesday afternoon to submit our payroll. Still have Thursday payroll, so it did gain us efficiency. Like I said, was cost savings. It was much cheaper to be on one system than doing paying for all these other systems. So far, it’s been a win/win.

 

What’s the benefit of having a fully integrated solution, like TEAM Software?

When I came to Owens and explored TEAM, you know, it was so much more easy to use than the systems we had at the big Fortune 500 company. And then there’s, there’s some add on features we’re doing. We do our WOTC tax credits and all that through team. So we’re able to take advantage of using Kwantek, our payroll system and also the payroll tax credit system, all on one platform.

 

Do you feel you have a voice at TEAM?

So after implementing team fully in July of 2023 I was asked to be on the customer advisory board, because they’re looking for new ideas. They’re looking for both long term customers and newer customers, and it’s a chance to have a say in the future development and where the product is heading, and I’ve enjoy being part of that team.

 

Would you recommend TEAM Software to your peers in the industry?

I recommend team to anybody that’s in the Facilities Services, janitorial business.. Every software has their pluses and minuses, and team is very good for that service.
